The iconic horror comedy Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube is making a massive comeback in 2025, and fans have plenty to get excited about. The new anime adaptation has just revealed a fresh trailer and key visual, along with the announcement of a dedicated panel at Anime Expo and a brand new manga series. This revival brings a modern energy to one of the most memorable supernatural school stories ever published.
The upcoming anime is being produced by STUDIO KAI and is set to premiere in July 2025 with a one hour special. The premiere will feature back to back episodes, giving longtime fans and newcomers a thrilling reintroduction to Meisuke Nueno, the teacher with a cursed hand and a compassionate heart. Alongside him is his old rival Tamamo, whose return promises a clash of spiritual forces. The latest trailer also teases the show’s theme songs, with P0WER AkuryoTaisan by SKS ZIGZAG kicking off the action and Sunflower by Chilli Beans closing it on an emotional note.
REMOW, the production company behind the project, will host an exclusive panel at Anime Expo on July 5. Fans attending the panel will be treated to the U.S. premiere of the anime and a sneak peek at REMOW’s wider summer slate. Attendees can also expect some exciting giveaways and an early look at what lies ahead for the franchise.
The return of Nube is not limited to the screen. A brand new manga series titled Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube PLUS will begin serialization on MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA starting June 11. The manga explores untold episodes from the original storyline and focuses on characters from Class 5 3 of Domori Elementary School. Chapters will be released globally, giving fans across the world a chance to revisit the Nube universe.
The anime features a stellar voice cast with Ryotaro Okiayu reprising his role as Meisuke Nueno. Toshiyuki Morikawa voices Tamamo, with Ai Kakuma, Aya Endo, Ryoko Shiraishi, and Aya Suzaki bringing back familiar characters. The production staff includes director Yasuyuki Oishi and head writer Yoshiki Okusa, along with an experienced creative team handling the visuals, character design, sound, and animation direction.
For fans who followed the franchise since the original manga’s run from 1993 to 1999, this return is both nostalgic and fresh. The story has been expanded through anime films, a TV adaptation, and even a live action drama in 2014. Now, in 2025, Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube is ready to reclaim its spot among the most beloved supernatural anime.
The spirit world is stirring once again. Get ready to return to Domori Elementary, where demons lurk and only one man can face them head on.
