The TV anime adaptation of Killed Again Mr Detective will broadcast in April 2026, revealed during the MF Bunko Autumn School Festival. A first teaser spotlights the series hook and the lead duo. Rikuya Yasuda voices Sakuya Otsuki, a young sleuth who inherits the legacy of a legendary detective. Shion Wakayama voices Lilithea, his poised and perceptive partner. The twist is stark. Sakuya revives every time he dies, a chilling advantage that turns every case into a high risk loop as he edges closer to the truth.

Takashi Naoya directs at LIDEN FILMS with series composition by Mio Inoue. Character designs are by Akiko Kumada, while Shuhei Mutsuki handles music. The creative team also includes Emiko Onodera on color design, Kuniaki Nemoto on art direction with studio Kusanagi, Mitsuyoshi Yamamoto on photography, and Kohei Yoshida on sound direction. Music production is by Nichion and sound production by Inspion Edge.

Based on the light novel by Teniwoha and Riichu, the story begins with a seemingly simple surveillance job aboard a luxury cruise. A suspected affair entangles the pair in a larger conspiracy, and Sakuya’s uncanny return from death becomes both a tool and a terrifying curse. Each death resets his vantage point, but memories and scars remain, forcing the duo to gamble with time and consequence.

The concept positions the series at the intersection of clever puzzle work and tense psychological drama. Expect locked room turns, red herrings, and a steady escalation as Sakuya and Lilithea test how far they will go to solve the unsolvable.
