Digital manga platform formerly known under a different name has officially rebranded to Omoi, with its new website now live at omoi.com and the app titled Omoi Manga Reader. The service continues to host simulpub chapters as well as an expanding manga library across iOS, Android, and the web, accessible to readers outside Japan.

The rebranding represents more than a cosmetic change — it marks the beginning of a broader expansion strategy aimed at solidifying Omoi’s presence as a global manga destination.

Why the New Name?

Co-founder Evan Minto explains that the word “Omoi” translates to thought or feeling in Japanese, capturing the emotion, intention, and care the team places into both its manga releases and the design of its product. According to Minto, the previous name created confusion because several other companies used similar branding. The new identity allows the platform to stand apart with a name that resonates strongly with the cultural origin of its content.

Minto emphasizes that Omoi aims to reflect the depth and sentiment that manga evokes, making the new name both meaningful and strategically sound.

A Growing Catalog Since 2021

Omoi’s journey began in 2021, when it launched with titles from Kodansha USA, one of the largest manga publishers in the world. Over time, the platform diversified significantly:

  • In 2023, Omoi added more than 150 manga to its collection through partnerships with MediBang and Media Do International.

  • In 2024, it secured a deal with J-Novel Club, widening its selection beyond mainstream manga into light novels and niche fan-favorite genres.

The platform’s ongoing serials continue to attract consistent readership. Some of the notable titles include:
