The much awaited anime adaptation Secrets of the Silent Witch has taken a strong first step by unveiling its creditless opening theme song video just after the broadcast of its first episode. Titled “feels,” the opening song is performed by the artist Hitsujibungako, who also lends their voice to the series’ ending song “mild days.” With both themes now revealed, fans are already captivated by the emotional undertones and beautiful animation that mark the series’ musical identity.
The anime is animated by Studio Gokumi, with Takaomi Kanazaki overseeing the project as chief director and series composition writer. Direction is handled by Yasuo Iwamoto, ensuring a visual storytelling style that reflects the delicate yet powerful nature of its central character. The show’s voice cast includes a talented ensemble, led by Saya Aizawa who plays the protagonist Monica Everett. She is joined by notable names such as Hitomi Nabatame, Junichi Suwabe, Shogo Sakata, Atsumi Tanezaki, and several others who bring the expansive world of the Serendia Academy to life.
Two promotional visuals had already given fans a glimpse of the anime’s aesthetic, featuring the Student Council of Serendia Academy along with characters like Claudia, Lana Collette, Isabelle Norton, and Casey Grove. But it is the creditless opening theme that has truly pulled fans deeper into Monica’s mystical and emotionally charged journey. The animation sequences blend magical realism with tender emotional cues, echoing the silent strength of the main character.
At the heart of Secrets of the Silent Witch is Monica Everett, a powerful mage with the rare ability to cast unchanted spells. She is known across the land for defeating a legendary black dragon single handedly, a feat that confirms her as one of the most formidable mages in existence. But beneath that reputation lies an incredibly shy and introverted girl who mastered silent casting only to avoid speaking in public. It is this emotional vulnerability paired with supernatural strength that makes Monica a compelling protagonist.
The anime is based on the light novel series written by Matsuri Isora and illustrated by Nanna Fujimi. The story has also been adapted into a manga with artwork by Tobi Tana, which began serialization in July 2021. The English versions of both the novel and manga are being published by Yen Press, giving international audiences access to the enchanting world of Monica Everett.
As Episode 1 sets the tone for a season filled with emotional storytelling, magical battles, and deep character development, the opening and ending songs elevate the narrative with their poetic compositions. Fans have already begun discussing how the theme “feels” mirrors Monica’s internal world, where silence speaks louder than words and magic becomes an expression of identity rather than power.
With a talented cast, an emotionally charged soundtrack, and a unique lead character, Secrets of the Silent Witch is quickly becoming one of the standout series of the year. The creditless opening song video is just the beginning of what looks to be a beautifully woven fantasy full of heart, mystery, and silent power.
