The girls of Saga are back and the undead energy is stronger than ever. Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise, the upcoming film in the cult-favorite franchise, has officially unveiled its latest main visual and a new trailer that offers a first real taste of what fans can expect. The movie will premiere in theaters across Japan on October 24, 2025, but the celebrations begin even earlier with a special screening event on September 28 at Shinjuku Wald 9 in Tokyo.

Studio MAPPA returns once again to bring the quirky, heartwarming, and offbeat world of zombie idols to life. The animation is led by directors Takafumi Ishida and Takeru Sato, while the screenplay is written by Shigeru Murakoshi, known for capturing the perfect balance of absurdity and sincerity that defines the franchise. The character designs are handled by Fumihide Sai, Jinshichi Yamaguchi, and Kasumi Fukagawa, and the music is composed by Yasuharu Takanashi, whose dramatic and emotionally charged compositions are a key part of the show’s signature tone.

The trailer teases vibrant performances, intense emotions, and just the right amount of chaos as the zombie idols continue to chase their dream of reviving Saga Prefecture through music. While the plot details remain under wraps, fans can expect the usual blend of hilarious moments, emotional backstories, and surprisingly deep commentary on life, death, and identity that have defined the series from the start.

Zombie Land Saga first captured hearts with its debut season in 2018, where it introduced audiences to a group of dead girls who are brought back to life by an eccentric producer and turned into an idol group named Franchouchou. Its second season, Zombie Land Saga Revenge, aired in 2021 and continued their strange but inspiring journey.

Over the years, the franchise has also expanded into manga. The main series, based on the anime’s original story, was serialized on Cygames’ Cycomi platform between 2018 and 2021. A spinoff manga, Zombie Land Saga Sidestory: The First Zombie, gave a deeper look into the mysterious past of fan-favorite character Tae Yamada and ran in Ultra Jump from 2021 to 2022.

The upcoming movie marks the first time fans will see Franchouchou on the big screen, and expectations are high. With the new visual showcasing the cast in cosmic-themed outfits and the trailer hinting at both drama and redemption, Yumeginga Paradise looks set to deliver a thrilling continuation for one of the most original anime concepts in recent years.

For global fans, streaming platforms like Crunchyroll have carried both seasons of the anime, and an international release of the movie is likely to follow once it premieres in Japan. Whether you’re a long-time supporter of the zombie idols or someone new to the undead idol scene, this movie promises to be a celebration of everything that makes Zombie Land Saga so unforgettable.
