The upcoming anime adaptation of The Invisible Man and His Soon-to-Be Wife has unveiled a brand-new trailer confirming that the series will begin airing in January 2026. Alongside the premiere announcement, fans were introduced to new cast members, theme songs, and character designs that further highlight the charm of this unusual romance.

The opening theme song will be performed by singer-songwriter Mao Abe with a track titled Ding-dong, while the ending theme Hoshi Megane will be sung by Kaori Ishihara. These musical choices set the tone for what promises to be a heartfelt and whimsical love story.

The trailer confirmed two additional characters joining the cast, expanding the quirky ensemble that surrounds the central couple. The cast list now includes:

  • Masaya Fukunishi as Daichi Kikira

Fresh character visuals for Luna Jarashi and Daichi Kikira were also released, giving fans a first look at their designs.

Creative Staff

The series is being produced by Project No.9, with Mitsuho Seta serving as both director and series composer. Character designs are by Kairi Unabara, who is also known for Witch Hat Atelier. The music is composed by Ruka Kawada, recognized for her work on Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence, while Nozomi Nakatani takes on sound direction. Additionally, Yoishi Kadono is credited with overseeing suit design supervision, ensuring that the invisible detective’s unique style is faithfully adapted.

Story Background

Based on the manga by IWATOBINEKO, published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment, the story blends supernatural mystery with romantic comedy. It follows Yakou Shizuka, a shy and blind woman who works at a detective agency. Her boss, Tounome, is a kind and gentlemanly figure who also happens to be invisible. His unusual ability makes him the perfect detective, yet he quickly realizes that Yakou is immune to his invisibility, always sensing when he is near. Enchanted by her kindness, Tounome sets out to win her affection, using both his detective skills and his sincerity.

The manga introduces a lively supporting cast including quirky human and demi-human coworkers, adding humor and warmth to the central love story. The anime promises to carry over this balance of supernatural intrigue and heartfelt romance, making it one of the most anticipated titles of 2026.
