The highly anticipated anime adaptation of Roll Over and Die: I Will Fight for an Ordinary Life with My Love and Cursed Sword! has just dropped a new trailer, giving fans a fresh look at its gritty tone and character-driven narrative. Scheduled to premiere in 2026, the series is confirmed to stream on Crunchyroll, adding another major fantasy title to its global library.

Ayaka Nanase will voice the protagonist Flum Apricot, a young girl whose life shifts drastically after betrayal and enslavement. The story unfolds from Flum’s desperate struggle for survival to her transformation into a warrior after discovering her unique “Reversal” skill and a cursed sword. The voice cast also includes Miku Ito as Milkit, Miki Kariya as Cyrill Sweechka, Makoto Yasumura as Jean Inteige, Misaki Kuno as Eterna Rinebow, Takaya Kuroda as Gadhio Lathcutt, Aya Endo as Maria Afenjuns, and Jin Ogasawara as Linus Radiants.

The emotional core of the series lies in the evolving bond between Flum and Milkit. Miku Ito, who voices Milkit, shared her personal impressions of the role. She described how Milkit’s character, shaped by a lifetime of servitude, slowly begins to open up through her companionship with Flum. Ito emphasized the emotional contrast in the series its disturbing moments and gentle scenes and how that duality kept her emotionally invested while reading the original light novels.

Behind the scenes, Nobuharu Kamanaka is directing the adaptation with Mariko Kunisawa in charge of series composition. The character design team features Miki Matsumoto, Fumio Matsumoto, Takaaki Fukuyo, and Takafumi Furusawa. Music will be composed by Ryo Takahashi, and studio ACGT is handling the animation production.

The anime is based on the popular light novel written by kiki and illustrated by kinta. Originally published as a web novel in 2018 on Shosetsuka ni Naro, it was later acquired by Micro Magazine under their GC Novels label. The manga adaptation by Sunao Minakata has also been running on Comic Ride since December 2018. Both the novel and manga are licensed in English by Seven Seas Entertainment.

For fans of emotionally charged fantasy, Roll Over and Die offers a powerful blend of survival, healing, and unlikely companionship. As the 2026 premiere approaches, expectations are high for a story that tackles both pain and hope with sincerity.
