Fans of the dark yet quirky series MARRIAGETOXIN can celebrate as the manga officially heads to the small screen. Studio BONES FILM, known for its high-quality animation, is producing the adaptation, with director Motonobu Hori at the helm. Character designs and chief animation direction will be handled by Kohei Tokuoka, acclaimed for his work on SK8 the Infinity and The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity. MARRIAGETOXIN is written by Joumyaku and illustrated by Mizuki Yoda. Since its serialization on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ platform in April 2022, it has become a fan-favorite with 14 volumes published as of August 2025. The story blends underworld intrigue with an unconventional quest for love, making it one of the most unique titles in recent years.
