Rumi Okubo has also been newly announced as the voice of Kufa, expanding the range of personalities in the series.

Hero Without a Class is based on the light novel by Shichio Kuzu and illustrated by Yumehito Ueda. Originally published on the popular Shosetsuka ni Naro website, the story ran online from 2017 to 2020 before Earth Star Entertainment picked it up for print publication. The success of the light novel led to a manga adaptation illustrated by Akio Nanae, which debuted on the Comic Earth Star website in November 2018. One Peace Books has licensed the manga for English readers.

The story follows Arel, the son of two legendary figures, Sword Princess Farah and Archmage Leon. Unlike everyone else in this world who is assigned a class and special skills at the age of ten, Arel receives nothing. No class. No powers. Just sheer determination and raw grit. Refusing to accept defeat, Arel throws himself into relentless training and uses his intelligence and strategy to forge a new identity. He is not defined by labels or systems, but by action. His journey as a classless hero redefines what strength really means in a world obsessed with structure.

As the trailer reveals, the anime will focus heavily on Arel’s rise as he challenges social norms and battles prejudice from those who look down on him. While others rely on magic or inherited status, Arel creates his own legend through perseverance, combat skill, and wit. It is a story that blends heart, fantasy, and rebellion into a narrative that feels both classic and new.

Hero Without a Class is shaping up to be one of the most exciting underdog stories in anime this year. For fans of unique protagonists, emotional growth, and fantasy worlds that break the mold, this series will be one to watch closely.
