A Fresh Start for Season 2

Fans of Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You can now look forward to January 2026 when the series officially returns. A brand-new teaser trailer not only confirmed the broadcast window but also introduced Mayuko Kazama, who will voice Kuroda. Kuroda is a past classmate of Fuka who has quietly harbored feelings for him since their university days. This development hints at deeper romantic twists and potential conflicts as the story continues to unfold.

Production Staff and Creative Team

The first season was helmed by Junichi Yamamoto, known for More than a Married Couple, but Not Lovers, at TYPHOON GRAPHICS. Series composition was handled by Yu Murai, with character designs by Io Shiiba and music composed by Keiji Inai, whose past works include Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion. These core staff members helped bring Haruka Mitsui’s original manga to life, and their influence continues to define the anime’s heartfelt tone and visual style.

A Story Rooted in Youth and First Love

The first season set its stage in 2020, introducing viewers to Mizuho, a girl having the worst 17th birthday imaginable. Forgotten by her parents, unable to get close to her crush, and facing the cancellation of school trips due to a global crisis, her life seemed bleak. Everything changed when her childhood friend Kizuki suddenly confessed his feelings, sparking a romance that reshaped her idea of youth. Season 2 promises to dive deeper into the evolving relationships between Mizuho, Kizuki, and their classmates while adding the dramatic tension of Kuroda’s introduction.

The Manga and Streaming

Haruka Mitsui’s original manga continues to inspire the anime, which has been widely appreciated for its heartfelt storytelling and realistic portrayal of high school love. Crunchyroll currently streams the first season, making it accessible to international audiences who can now catch up before the new season arrives.

What to Expect

With the arrival of Kuroda, viewers can anticipate new layers of emotion, jealousy, and heartfelt drama as Mizuho and her circle of friends navigate the complexities of love and adolescence. The January 2026 broadcast date ensures the anime will be one of the highlights of the winter season lineup.
