WIT Studio’s upcoming anime Agents of the Four Seasons is gradually blooming into one of the most awaited releases of the year. On July 7, the studio revealed a new summer themed visual and trailer that captures both the warmth and mystique of this emotionally rich fantasy. Based on the light novel by Violet Evergarden author Kana Akatsuki, this project already carries the emotional weight and poetic charm that fans of her storytelling have come to expect.

Though the official release date and voice cast are still under wraps, the promotional materials have already created waves across anime forums and social media. The visual radiates the essence of summer, capturing moments of fleeting serenity and deep mythological undertones. The accompanying trailer offers a brief yet evocative glimpse into the series’ tone, highlighting its seasonal transitions, lyrical storytelling, and breathtaking animation.

The anime is being directed by Ken Yamamoto, known for his work on Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Beginning of a New Era. Series composition is helmed by Ayumu Hisao, recognized for I’m in Love with the Villainess, while character designs are being crafted by Namiko Torii, who previously contributed to The Grimm Variations. This powerful creative lineup promises a polished adaptation that honors the novel’s emotional core.

The original light novel, illustrated by Suoh, offers a deeply mythic and heartfelt narrative. Once, the world knew only winter, until the season created Spring out of loneliness. As time went on, Summer and Autumn came to life to complete the cycle. Those responsible for sustaining this balance are known as the Agents of the Four Seasons. Among them is Hinagiku, the Agent of Spring, who disappeared a decade ago, taking with her the season she embodied. Her return marks the restoration of a fragile cycle, and as the myth foretells, she sends her enduring love to Winter in a story that blends celestial themes with personal sorrow.

The anime promises to explore not just magical seasons but the emotional journeys of their personified agents, weaving themes of loss, reunion, and cosmic duty into a narrative that is as moving as it is magical. With WIT Studio’s signature attention to detail and atmospheric design, the adaptation is shaping up to be both a visual and emotional triumph.

Yen Press is publishing both the light novel and its manga adaptation in English. The manga, which covers the first arc, is illustrated by Nappa Komatsuka. For international fans who have followed Kana Akatsuki’s career since Violet Evergarden, this series offers another journey into a world where emotion breathes through every petal, leaf, and gust of wind.
