The chaos continues in A Couple of Cuckoos Season 2 as the anime gears up for the premiere of its fourth episode, titled “All Together, Now.” Scheduled for release on Tuesday, July 29, the episode will be available to stream on platforms like Crunchyroll and Bilili. With Jou Aoba writing the script and Hirokazu Sakamoto handling both direction and storyboarding, the episode promises to blend romantic tension with unexpected drama.
In the upcoming episode, Ai and Erika go head-to-head in a surprising romantic competition for Nagi. The situation escalates when Ai shows up unannounced at the Amano household and openly challenges Erika, demanding she step away from Nagi. But what begins as a straightforward confrontation soon turns complicated as Ai’s perception of her romantic rival is thrown into question by an unexpected revelation.
The second season of the anime is being animated by Studio Okuruto Noboru, which has taken over from the previous studios Shin-Ei Animation and SynergySP. The new season also sees a fresh creative team, including Masakazu Hishida as the director and Jo Aoba overseeing series composition. Kyoko Kon leads character design duties, and Rei Ishizuka returns to compose the music, continuing to set the emotional tone of the series.
Fans can also look forward to more from the show’s musical side. The opening theme “Kimi ga Kureta Mono” by asmi sets an upbeat romantic mood, while the ending theme “Anata de nakucha” by the idol group 22 over 7 closes each episode with emotional resonance.
A Couple of Cuckoos is based on the manga written by Miki Yoshikawa and originally serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2020. The story follows 16-year-old Nagi Umino, a brilliant student who learns that he was accidentally switched at birth. When he meets Erika Amano, a social media star who wants nothing to do with marriage, things quickly spiral into chaos. To resolve the hospital mix-up, their families decide that Nagi and Erika should get married, not realizing that the two have already crossed paths under bizarre circumstances.
With a blend of mistaken identity, family pressure, and romantic entanglements, A Couple of Cuckoos continues to bring fresh twists in every episode. Episode 4 promises even more tension, humor, and surprising developments as the battle for Nagi’s heart heats up.
