Season 2 Announcement
At the My Hero Academia anime stage event during KYOMAF 2025, it was officially revealed that My Hero Academia: Vigilantes will return for its highly anticipated second season in January 2026. The announcement was accompanied by a striking new character visual showcasing the vigilante trio of The Crawler, Pop☆Step, and Knuckleduster.
Creative Team and Production
Season 2 will once again be animated by Bones Film, maintaining the same high-quality production fans expect from the franchise. Kenichi Suzuki, known for his work on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, continues as director. Yosuke Kuroda returns for series composition, with Takahiko Yoshida on character design, and the music team led by Yuki Hayashi alongside Shogo Yamashira and Yuki Furuhashi. With this veteran crew, fans can expect dynamic animation, impactful storytelling, and a strong continuation of the first season.
The Story So Far
Based on the manga by Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes shifts the spotlight away from pro heroes to focus on everyday people who take justice into their own hands. The first season introduced Koichi Haimawari, a college student who never quite made it into the ranks of professional heroes. His life changed when he encountered Knuckleduster and Pop☆Step, forming a small team of vigilantes determined to protect their community in ways official heroes could not.
Season 2 is set to dive deeper into their struggles, rivalries, and the growing danger in a society overflowing with quirks. Fans can expect high-stakes street battles, emotional arcs, and more focus on the gritty reality of being a hero without recognition.
Streaming and Global Release
Crunchyroll has confirmed that it will stream the sequel worldwide, just as it did with Season 1. This ensures that fans everywhere can follow the underground battles as they unfold. The first season remains available to stream, offering a perfect chance for new viewers to catch up before the January 2026 debut.
