A Global Release with Star Power

The Reze Arc film officially premiered in Japan with midnight screenings across Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Hokkaido. To heighten the excitement, Sony Pictures Entertainment confirmed worldwide theatrical rights, with an October 24 release in the United States and an October 29 debut in the United Kingdom. Fans in over 80 countries will get early screenings beginning September 24, ensuring the film makes a truly global splash.

Adding to the hype, the film’s ending theme "JANE DOE" is a collaboration between two of Japan’s most iconic artists, Kenshi Yonezu and Hikaru Utada. This is complemented by Yonezu also performing the film’s theme song "IRIS OUT," while Maximum The Hormone contributes a special long-version of their iconic track "Hawatari Nioku Centi," which directly references Reze and has never been released in full until now.

Story of the Reze Arc

The Reze Arc follows Denji after his encounter with Makima, leading to a fateful meeting with Reze, a mysterious girl working at a café. As Denji begins to fall for her, he is drawn into a new web of danger and betrayal that pushes the boundaries of trust, love, and survival. This story arc is one of the most beloved in Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga, blending romance with gut-wrenching action and devastating twists.

Production Excellence from MAPPA

Directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara, with Hiroshi Seko handling the screenplay, and character designs by Kazutaka Sugiyama, the film carries the same creative force that brought the television series to life. Studio MAPPA ensures the same high standard of animation, with bold action sequences, stylish devil designs, and emotionally charged performances. Reina Ueda stars as Reze, bringing the character’s complexity to the screen.

Chainsaw Man’s Expanding Legacy

Since its manga debut in 2018, Chainsaw Man has become one of the most influential series of its generation. With over 10 million copies in circulation and adaptations across anime, stage plays, and now feature films, the franchise shows no signs of slowing down. The Reze Arc film demonstrates how MAPPA continues to push boundaries while delivering faithful adaptations of Fujimoto’s groundbreaking work.
