From Light Novel to Anime Phenomenon
The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten began as a light novel series written by Saekisan with illustrations by Hanekoto. It first appeared on the popular web novel site Shosetsuka ni Naro before being picked up by SB Creative under its GA Bunko label in 2019. The story was later adapted into a manga by Wan Shibata with composition by Suzu Yuki, expanding its fanbase even further.
The Story So Far
The series follows Mahiru Shiina, a kind and stunning girl often called an “angel” by her classmates, and Amane Fujimiya, a quiet and somewhat clumsy boy who lives next door. Their paths cross unexpectedly when Amane finds Mahiru sitting alone in the rain one day. What begins as a simple act of kindness quickly blossoms into a tender relationship filled with small acts of care, emotional vulnerability, and genuine affection.
Season 2 promises to explore how their bond evolves as they face new emotional challenges and deepen their understanding of each other.
