The excitement around Solo Leveling continues to build as new comments from the anime’s producer have strongly hinted that a third season is not only expected but already on the horizon. While not officially confirmed in black and white, fans now have the clearest sign yet that Season 3 is very likely in production.
Solo Leveling has already taken over the global anime scene with its gripping story, stunning animation, and the unstoppable rise of Sung Jinwoo. Adapted from the hit manhwa by Chugong, the series was already a phenomenon before the anime began, but the animation brought the story to life in ways that have stunned audiences everywhere. Season 2, in particular, showcased the massive Jeju Island Arc and proved to be one of the most visually ambitious arcs ever adapted in anime. The anticipation for Season 3 is sky high, and recent developments have only added to the momentum.
In a recent episode of Crunchyroll’s podcast The Anime Effect, Solo Leveling producer Atsushi Kaneko and action director Yoshihiro Kanno appeared as special guests. While discussing the show's explosive success, the topic of Season 3 naturally came up. Kaneko, though careful with his words, left fans with a message filled with hope and near certainty. He explained that while his current position did not allow him to formally confirm the third season, the team was relying on fan support to help bring the next chapter to life. He even referenced Dragon Ball’s iconic Spirit Bomb moment to describe the kind of energy and encouragement the studio needs to power forward with the project.
This open ended but optimistic comment was enough for fans to understand that work is already likely underway. The third season, if it continues with the same pacing and dedication as its predecessors, is expected to adapt several major arcs from the source material, including the Recruitment Arc, the Ahjin Guild Arc, and the Double Dungeon Arc. These parts of the story are not only action heavy but also extremely emotional and transformative for Jinwoo’s character.
Given the intense work that went into Season 2, it is not surprising that Season 3 will take longer to be completed. Kaneko previously shared that animating one episode of Solo Leveling can take up to ten months, not including voice work, dubbing, and post production. There are also hints that the new season may be produced with higher frame rates to further enhance the viewing experience. All of this points toward a project that is not just being made, but being crafted with even greater attention to detail and impact than before.
In the end, while we may not yet have an official release date or confirmation from the studio, it is becoming increasingly clear that Solo Leveling Season 3 is only a matter of time. The success of the first two seasons has created a global fanbase eager for more, and with producers openly acknowledging the possibility, the future looks very bright for this anime juggernaut.
