Official Announcement

The production committee of Otherworldly Munchkin: Let’s Speedrun the Dungeon with Only 1 HP! announced on the anime’s official website that the October 2025 premiere has been postponed. According to the statement, the delay was made in order to further enhance the quality of the show. While this news may disappoint fans who were eagerly awaiting the debut, the creators reassured audiences that updates regarding the new broadcast schedule will be shared through the anime’s official website and X account.

About the Series

The anime is based on the isekai fantasy comedy manga created by Yu Shimizu and illustrated by Makoto Aogiri. Serialized since 2019 on Kodansha’s Suiyobi no Sirius manga service, the series currently spans 12 volumes and has gathered a steady fan following. Crunchyroll has already announced plans to stream the anime globally, including in North America, Europe, Oceania, the Middle East, North Africa, and India.

The story follows 16-year-old Yukito Kirihara, who lives peacefully with his younger sister Sana until tragedy strikes when an ogre attacks. Yukito sacrifices himself to protect her but finds himself reincarnated with only 1 HP and a mysterious character sheet. Determined to find his sister again, Yukito sets out on a dangerous journey through dungeons, relying on wit, luck, and courage to overcome seemingly impossible odds.

Why the Delay Matters

Anime delays have become increasingly common in recent years as studios push to ensure higher quality and avoid production crunch. Fans of Otherworldly Munchkin can expect the additional time to result in more polished animation, stronger storytelling, and a faithful adaptation of the beloved manga. While the wait may be longer than anticipated, the payoff is expected to deliver a more memorable viewing experience.

What’s Next

Although the new broadcast date has not yet been revealed, fans are encouraged to follow the anime’s official platforms for updates. With Crunchyroll handling global streaming rights, the series is already set for wide accessibility once the release is finalized.
