Ranma 1/2 Season 2 Heads to India
Netflix has officially listed Ranma 1/2 Season 2 for streaming in India, coinciding with its Japanese debut. The series will premiere on October 4 at 24:55 (technically October 5 at 12:55 a.m.) on NTV before heading to Netflix immediately after the broadcast. This simultaneous release ensures Indian audiences can enjoy the adventures as soon as they air in Japan.
Returning Cast and New Additions
One of the biggest highlights of this season is the return of Toshihiko Seki, who reprises his role as Mousse more than three decades after the first Ranma 1/2 anime. New cast members joining the ensemble include Kaori Nazuka as Ukyō Kuonji, Kazuhiko Inoue as Happōsai, Ako Mayama as Cologne, and Akira Ishida as Hikaru Gosunkugi. This mix of veterans and fresh voices promises a dynamic season.
Music and Production Updates
The opening theme song for Season 2, Wo Aini, will be performed by Wednesday Campanella, while nishina brings her unique style to the ending track Panda Girl. On the production side, most of the original staff from Season 1 return, with Kōsuke Kawamura joining as chief animation director and Ryūta Hayashi co-directing the art alongside Chihiro Ōkawa.
A Legacy Revived
The first season of the new Ranma 1/2 anime premiered in October 2024 and streamed exclusively on Netflix after airing in Japan, garnering positive reception from fans of Rumiko Takahashi’s timeless manga. Directed by Kōnosuke Uda and produced by MAPPA, the series blends nostalgia with modern animation to reintroduce the chaotic martial arts romance to a new generation.
With Season 2 set to explore more comedic battles, romantic mishaps, and unforgettable martial arts antics, the return of Ranma 1/2 is shaping up to be one of the must-watch anime events of the fall season.
