Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation is now expected to return for its third season in April 2026, according to Toho’s latest financial results presentation for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026. The anime’s listing appeared as part of Toho’s upcoming production schedule, confirming what many fans had already speculated following the release of the first teaser trailer earlier this year. While the announcement is not yet confirmed via the anime’s official website or social media platforms, Toho’s direct involvement as a key member of the production committee adds significant credibility to the update.
This third season will mark the return of Ryosuke Shibuya as director, following his work on the second half of Season 2. Studio Bind, which has led the animation throughout the series, will once again be handling production. Mushoku Tensei Season 3’s arrival in April 2026 would continue the show’s steady pace, coming exactly two years after the premiere of Season 2 Part 2 in April 2024.
Egg Firm, another major player in the production of Mushoku Tensei, is also back. Chief producer Nobuhiro Osawa recently expressed his long-term hopes of delivering full adaptations for several fan-favorite series under Egg Firm’s portfolio, including Mushoku Tensei, Sword Art Online, and DanMachi. His vision aligns with the increasing demand among anime fans for complete and faithful story arcs, particularly for expansive fantasy worlds like those seen in Mushoku Tensei.
Alongside Mushoku Tensei, Toho’s 2026 anime slate is shaping up to be stacked with returning fan favorites. The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Season 2 is also scheduled for April 2026, with Chihiro Kumano stepping in as director. BEASTARS Final Season Part 1 is set to debut sometime in 2026 as well. Meanwhile, My Hero Academia’s highly anticipated FINAL SEASON (Season 8) has been confirmed for an October 4, 2025 release. These announcements signal a busy and impactful upcoming year for anime fans around the world.
Crunchyroll will stream Mushoku Tensei Season 3 upon its release and continues to describe the series as the story of a 34-year-old man who is reincarnated into a new magical world after a tragic accident in his previous life. With a fresh start and his memories intact, he sets out to live a better life and carve a meaningful journey with courage, growth, and second chances.
As fans await a formal visual or second trailer, the April 2026 target provides a clear window to look forward to. With returning creators, growing global demand, and high expectations for animation and storytelling, Mushoku Tensei’s third season is positioned to be one of the major fantasy releases of 2026.
