The long-awaited English dub of Let’s Play is finally here. Adapted from the viral webcomic by Leanne M. Krecic and Ebimo, the anime brings its quirky mix of gaming, love, and humor to life. Crunchyroll confirmed that the first episode will go live on Wednesday, October 15, marking one of the most anticipated romantic comedy premieres of the fall season.

A Relatable Story About Games, Love, and Anxiety

The story follows Samara “Sam” Young, a game developer living in Los Angeles, whose life takes an unexpected turn when a famous online streamer publicly criticizes her indie game Ruminate. To make matters worse, the critic turns out to be her new neighbor. What unfolds is a warm, witty, and heartfelt story about ambition, internet culture, and the awkward chaos of modern relationships.

The series blends romance and comedy with an honest portrayal of social anxiety and self-doubt, making it stand out among recent slice-of-life anime adaptations.

The Voice Cast Behind Let’s Play

The English dub features a talented lineup that perfectly captures the charm and energy of the characters. Lacey Deline voices the shy yet determined Sam, while Brandon Acosta brings charisma to Marshall, her complex love interest. Nick Huber plays the reserved Charles, and Monty Thompson lends his voice to Link. The rest of the ensemble includes Monica Rial as Angela, Tristan Bonner as Dallas, Amber May as Dee, Larry Brantley as Edgar, and Dani Chambers as Vikki.

This strong voice cast adds personality and humor to the story, with Jason Lord serving as the voice director and Macy Anne Johnson adapting the English script.

The Team Bringing Let’s Play to Life

Directed by Daiki Tomiyasu — best known for his work on Pokémon Journeys — Let’s Play is animated by studio OLM, known for delivering clean visuals and expressive character work. The series composition is handled by Aya Matsui (Tamagotchi!), while Saki Ebisawa designs the characters and Conisch (Recovery of an MMO Junkie) provides the soundtrack.

The creative team aimed to maintain the webcomic’s emotional tone while enhancing its visual and cinematic appeal. From the energetic music to the relatable humor, the anime captures the essence of life in Los Angeles’s gaming scene — complete with memes, ambition, and heartfelt storytelling.

With its balance of romantic tension, internet-era comedy, and slice-of-life warmth, Let’s Play promises to be a standout title this season. Fans of modern rom-com anime like Horimiya and My Dress-Up Darling will likely find it instantly binge-worthy.
