A New Moonlit Glimpse into Kusunoki’s Garden

Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods, the upcoming anime adaptation of Enju’s light novel series, has released a mesmerizing new visual celebrating the Harvest Moon. The illustration captures the serene, mystical atmosphere that defines the story, with the garden bathed in the glow of moonlight — a reflection of the divine harmony and gentle magic that reside within the Kusunoki household.
The visual was released by KADOKAWA alongside the introduction of two new divine characters, setting the stage for what promises to be one of the most emotionally rich fantasy anime of 2026.
Two New Gods Join the Cast
The series has officially welcomed two new deities to its growing roster. Yoshiki Nakajima joins as Fujin, known for his playful yet powerful wind-based abilities, while Daiki Kobayashi takes on the role of Raijin, the thunder god with a commanding presence.
Both characters were revealed through stunning concept visuals that showcase their divine design — Fujin with flowing energy reminiscent of stormy skies and Raijin exuding the intensity of thunder and lightning. Their inclusion is expected to add new depth and dynamics to the celestial ensemble.
The Story of Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods

Based on the acclaimed light novel written by Enju and illustrated by ox, the series blends gentle slice-of-life storytelling with mythological fantasy. The narrative follows Minato and the divine beings who inhabit the Kusunoki household, a garden where seasons shift under the will of the gods.
The story unfolds with the arrival of the free-spirited kirin and the stoic ho’o, who bring both chaos and warmth to the household. As spring blossoms at the whim of the Yamagami, Minato and the residents spend their days admiring cherry blossoms, savoring seasonal delicacies, and occasionally venturing into other celestial realms. Beneath its tranquil charm, however, the onmyoji battle rising waves of evil spirits — ensuring that peace is never taken for granted.
From Web Novel to Worldwide Acclaim
Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods first appeared on Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2021 before being picked up by ASCII Media Works for publication later that year. The series quickly gained popularity for its blend of heartwarming daily life and divine intrigue. With ten light novel volumes and four manga volumes released in Japan, the franchise has continued to expand its reach, with Yen Press publishing the English edition. The third volume is set to release on November 11.
Fans can look forward to even more details at Animate Girls Festival 2025 on November 9, where new announcements about the anime’s cast, staff, and release timeline are expected.
A Gentle Fantasy Poised for Greatness

With its elegant worldbuilding, soft spiritual tone, and breathtaking artwork, Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods is shaping up to be a standout fantasy series in 2026. The new moon-viewing visual perfectly captures the show’s tranquil yet otherworldly atmosphere, blending beauty, mysticism, and emotional depth in a way that only Enju’s storytelling can deliver.
