A First Look at Death Stranding Mosquito

During Kojima Productions’ 10th anniversary event, fans were treated to a teaser trailer of the anime adaptation of Death Stranding. The project is being developed under the working title Death Stranding Mosquito, promising a fresh perspective on the world first introduced in the iconic video game. While a release date has not yet been announced, the reveal has already generated global excitement.

Production Team and Creative Vision

The anime is being produced by ABC Animation Studio, with Hiroshi Miyamoto, known for Precure Dream Stars!, stepping in as director. Acclaimed screenwriter Aaron Guzikowski, best known for Prisoners, will write the screenplay. This combination of Japanese anime expertise and Hollywood storytelling signals a unique approach that blends cinematic narrative with anime artistry.

Expanding the Death Stranding Universe

This anime project is just one of several announcements tied to the franchise’s expansion. A live-action Death Stranding film is currently in development with A24, building on Kojima’s vision of cross-media storytelling. Alongside the anime reveal, Kojima Productions also unveiled a teaser for OD, a new horror game in collaboration with Xbox Game Studios, as well as fresh looks at the espionage-inspired PHYSINT for PlayStation. Additional partnerships, including an AR game with Pokémon GO developer Niantic and even a sake collaboration with Shimizu Seizaburo Shoten, further highlight Kojima Productions’ creative ambitions.
