Fans of Enhypen and HYBE’s storytelling universe can finally mark their calendars — Dark Moon: The Blood Altar begins its broadcast on January 9, 2026, at 24:00 JST in Japan, with Crunchyroll bringing the series to audiences worldwide.

The series adapts HYBE’s massively successful webtoon that blends fantasy, romance, and mystery in a high school setting. The story follows seven boys attending Decelis Academy who cross paths with a mysterious transfer student, unraveling a supernatural secret that binds them all.

TROYCA, the studio behind Aldnoah.Zero and Bloom Into You, is producing the anime with Shoko Shiga directing, Toko Machida writing the series composition, and Masami Inomata handling character design. The soundtrack is composed by Naoki “naotyu-” Chiba, ensuring a moody and cinematic tone that fits the vampire-inspired series.

The original webtoon ran from 2022 to 2024 for 70 chapters, amassing over 190 million views globally. English editions are published by Yen Press, while a novel adaptation from HYBE’s IZE Press is set to launch in December.

This adaptation also continues Enhypen’s growing global influence. The seven-member boy band, formed through the 2020 show I-Land, has become an international powerhouse, selling millions of albums and performing worldwide. With Dark Moon, HYBE expands its creative universe by merging K-pop fandom culture with anime storytelling.

Dark Moon: The Blood Altar is more than just an anime — it’s a multimedia event that connects fans across music, comics, and now animation.
