Fate/Grand Order is celebrating a major milestone in style. To mark its 10th anniversary, a brand new commemorative movie has been released during FGO Fes. 2025, held on August 3. The film is directed by none other than Ryu Nakayama, the visionary behind Chainsaw Man. The project is produced by his studio Andraft and serves as both a nostalgic homage and a bold new statement for the franchise.

The short film, titled Fate/Grand Order 10th Anniversary Movie, was revealed to an enthusiastic crowd at the festival, further igniting the excitement surrounding this milestone year for the franchise. The animation is vibrant and emotional, filled with familiar faces and subtle references that long-time fans will recognize and appreciate.

One of the highlights of this new tribute is its stirring theme song Subarashii Sekai (translated as A Wonderful World). It is a collaboration between composer Kamiya YOH and vocalist YOSUKE from SPYAIR. The song encapsulates the emotional highs and lows of the FGO universe, echoing its journey through battles, sacrifices, and bonds.

Kamiya YOH spoke about the intention behind the composition, stating that he wanted the song to resonate with the duality of FGO's world. His goal was to express both light and shadow within the same melody, and he credited YOSUKE’s expressive vocals with bringing that vision to life. YOSUKE, in turn, shared his personal connection with the piece, noting that he experimented with his vocal tone to truly capture the emotional depth that the lyrics demanded.

The 10th anniversary celebration for Fate/Grand Order began in June and has already included several announcements, such as the return of the comedic short anime You’ve Lost Ritsuka Fujimaru for its third season. This new film adds a deeply artistic layer to the celebration, one that reflects on a decade of storytelling, character evolution, and fan devotion.

The choice of Ryu Nakayama as director feels symbolic. His work on Chainsaw Man demonstrated his ability to merge raw emotion with striking visuals, a blend that suits Fate/Grand Order’s complex universe perfectly. Under his direction, the anniversary film becomes more than a tribute. It becomes a statement about where the series has been and where it might go next.

With powerful visuals, heartfelt music, and direction from one of anime’s most celebrated talents, the 10th Anniversary Movie is a gift to the FGO community. It honors the journey so far while inspiring hope for the future.
