Fans of the Alma-chan Wants to Have a Family series have reason to celebrate as the upcoming anime adaptation has revealed a new trailer, introduced additional voice cast members, and confirmed its opening theme song along with the October 5 premiere date. The opening song, Dramatic Overlay, is performed by ZAQ and is featured in the latest trailer, giving viewers a first glimpse at the music that will accompany the anime’s emotional and comedic moments.

The anime is being animated by Studio Flad, known for Banished from the Hero’s Party, with Yasuhiro Minami, who previously directed episodes of Raven of the Inner Palace, helming the series. Yukie Sugawara, who worked on Overlord and Tougen Anki, is handling the series composition while Mika Yamamoto, recognized for her work on Tiger & Bunny The Movie The Rising, is designing the characters. This talented team promises to bring Alma-chan and her world to life with engaging visuals and compelling storytelling.

In addition to the main cast, which includes Hika Tsukishiro as Alma, Ryota Suzuki as Enji Kamisato, and M A O as Suzume Yobane, the anime will feature new voice actors Rika Nagae as Makina and Hinako Yano as Neon. Their inclusion adds depth to the story and highlights the expanding cast of characters that will interact with Alma-chan in her adventures.

The anime is adapted from the manga series written and illustrated by Nanateru, which was serialized on Kadokawa Shoten’s Comic Newtype website from July 2021 to February 2024. The sequel manga, Alma-chan Wants to Have a Family Z, began serialization on the same platform in July 2024. The story follows Alma-chan, a girl-type weapon, and the two brilliant scientists, Enji Kamisato and Suzume Yobane, who created her. The narrative explores themes of family, identity, and the bonds formed between creator and creation, delivering both heartfelt moments and lighthearted humor.

With Studio Flad bringing its animation expertise and a strong creative team behind the project, Alma-chan Wants to Have a Family is poised to capture the hearts of viewers and fans of the original manga. The combination of a captivating story, appealing character designs, and a memorable opening theme ensures that this anime will be a highlight of the fall season.
