New Visual and Cast Reveal

Ahead of the anime’s much-awaited premiere, Alma-chan Wants to Be a Family treated fans to a pre-release livestream where it unveiled a brand-new key visual and introduced more talented cast members. The event officially confirmed the addition of Hikaru Tono, Saku Mizuno, and Sayaka Sembongi to the voice cast, joining an already star-studded lineup.
The main voice cast includes Hika Tsukishiro as Alma, Ryota Suzuki as Enji Kamisato, M・A・O as Suzume Yobane, Rika Nagae as Makina, and Hinaki Yano as Neon. Together, they bring to life a charming mix of humor, emotion, and chaos as Alma navigates her strange yet heartwarming new life.
Staff and Production
The anime is being animated by Studio Flad, best known for Banished from the Hero’s Party. Yasuhiro Minami, who previously worked as an episode director on Raven of the Inner Palace, is helming the project as director. The series composition is written by Yukie Sugawara, whose credits include Overlord and Tougen Anki, while character designs are crafted by Mika Yamamoto, known for her work on Tiger and Bunny The Movie The Rising.
A trailer released earlier this year teased the show’s vibrant tone and featured a lively opening theme song, setting the stage for what promises to be a feel-good series filled with comedy and heart.
About the Story
Based on the manga written and illustrated by Nanateru, Alma-chan Wants to Be a Family follows the story of Alma, an adorable yet immensely powerful humanoid weapon. Despite her extraordinary strength and machine-like design, Alma possesses the innocence and curiosity of a child. When she begins living with the two eccentric scientists who created her, she experiences life in a way she never imagined—asking blunt, funny, and sometimes emotional questions about human behavior, love, and what it truly means to be part of a family.
The original manga ran on Kadokawa Shoten’s Comic Newtype website from July 2021 to February 2024. Due to its popularity, a sequel titled Alma-chan Wants to Have a Family Z began serialization in July 2024, continuing Alma’s journey toward understanding human emotions and family bonds.
